Serves: 8 bars of soap
Ingredients
  • 1-pound melt and pour soap base (use a scale for measurements)
  • 1 Tablespoon activated charcoal
  • ½ ounce orange essential oil
  • Lavender buds
  • Dried orange peel
  • Square muffin tin
Instructions
  1. Melt the soap in the microwave at 30-second intervals until it is completely melted. Pour into a bowl
  2. Add the activated charcoal. It will turn an intense shade of black.
  3. Add the orange essential oil (I let the soap base cool slightly before adding the oil)
  4. Pour soap into the prepared tin. You need to put a very thin coat of Vaseline on the tins OR spray with rubbing alcohol or vodka. This will prevent the soap from sticking to the pan
  5. Sprinkle the lavender buds and dried orange peel on top of the soap while it is still liquid. Press gently. As it cools, the buds and peel will stick to the soap.
  6. Let dry 12-24 hours
